Some critics always comments that Bacolod City is less developed compared to its neighbors, IloIlo  and Cebu. Will in my opinion that is true., by the rule of the thumb. Cities with more buildings and   developments is more progressive. Bacolod has lesser buildings and structures compare to Iloilo and Cebu. But the question is., How Bacolod City is developing compare to these more progressive cities.  Here are my opinions;  To give way for more future developments. The new Circumferential Highway is being constructed from  Silay City Airport to the north east of Bacolod, These would connect to the newly constructed Bacolod   City Government Center. With these newly constructed network of roads, a new trend of urban develop ment is increasingly progresses in the north and eastern part of Bacolod. Now with these new trending developments. The under developed lands of the city would be developed, idle lands and less productive agricultural lands would increase its profitability as these trend continue, commerce would increase in   the city commercial district.  If Bacolod City Hall and other Government offices would remain in its old building for the next 3 to 6   years. Bacolod City development and commercial activities would be congested around the old city hall  just as what happened to Cebu and Iloilo, from the time of its early days there economic and   infrastructure development. Bacolod City made these cities as its model guide for economic and urban   development. Bacolod City’s government and some private developers have there eye on the north and eastern part of the City. Economic activities are flourishing, Commercial activities are slowly emerging around the   New Government Center. Aside from the existing  Lopues East Commercial Center. New Hotels and Condominiums are being constructed , call centers like the Panasiatic are now operating its business. Other new establisments like Save More Super market, and food chains such as Mang Inasal,  Jolibee and McDonalds are just   within the vicinity..., and the New condominium Projects “ The Hi Residences  chain of multi-building    condominium are now on going construction.   As for Ayala land Corporation, future development are being planned comprehensively and sustainably by there top urban planners and designers, creating better land scape and ambiance for the Negrenses and Bacolod residential property buyers., Like the Verdana Homes Asyana, Avida Village, Amaia Scapes  North Point project. and the Commercial flagship Ayala Capitol Central at the heart of the City.  These would soon connect to the circumferential Highway then another multiplier effect for development would happen.
